Illinois bills meant to increase gun safety do not impress local lawmakers

(WIFR) – Illinois lawmakers introduce bills as part of the Safe at Home Legislation to strengthen laws on gun security and stolen firearms. But local lawmakers don’t believe these bills would do enough.

Supporters of the Safe at Home Legislation believe this series of bills will significantly reduce shootings, suicides and other gun-related incidents.

One of the included bills would HB5888 which would reduce the amount of time a person has to report a missing gun from 72 hours to 48. State Representative John Cabello believes gun control is all about common sense. He believes this bill won’t do much of anything…
