SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — A juvenile male driver struck a female pedestrian and her dog while driving south on Lowell Avenue on February 27. The pedestrian was walking her dogs east on Laurel Avenue when the incident occurred.
The driver stated that the sun was in his eyes at the time of the accident. The pedestrian took her injured dog to an emergency veterinarian clinic, but the dog did not survive.
The pedestrian reported pain from a wrist or arm injury but said she would seek medical treatment later…
