SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Sangamon County Coroner has identified a man who was found in the Sangamon River earlier this week.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon said 61-year-old Christopher Roberts of Springfield was pronounced deceased at 1:45pm on Monday after jumping from a bridge on Peoria Road and Sherman Blvd.

Allmon said he has conducted an autopsy and the preliminary findings point to Roberts dying of drowning.
