NEW BERLIN, Ill. (WCIA) — A 35-year-old woman from New Berlin is dead after a hit-and-run on I-72 in Sangamon County.
Illinois State Police responded to a two-car hit-and-run around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday just east of the New Berlin exit. Deputies said for unknown reasons, the woman was walking on I-72 when she was struck. She suffered life-threatening injuries and later died.
