Park Central Branch Library features MSU student-researched exhibition series

The Park Central Branch Library in downtown Springfield is hosting a series of six exhibitions that were researched by current and former Missouri State University students.

The exhibitions, aiming to highlight cultures of the Ozarks — from Native American artifacts to early 20th-century toys and cooking utensils — will each run for two months, opening on the first Friday of every other month during Springfield’s First Friday Art Walk. The first exhibition, “Celebrating Native American Cultures of the Ozarks,” kicked off on Friday, Oct. 4, and will run through the end of November.

Billie Follensbee, an art and design professor and the museum studies program coordinator at MSU, was responsible for curating each exhibition, grouping together artifacts she received from various entities to create six themed exhibits…
