Court docs reveal DNA evidence in murder case against Mamta Kafle Bhatt’s husband

MANASSAS PARK, Va. (7News) — Court documents revealed the DNA evidence that officials looked at while investigating the case of missing Manassas Park mother Mamta Kafle Bhatt before her husband Naresh Bhatt was charged with murder.

Documents from the Commonwealth of Virgnia Department of Forensic Science indicate that DNA testing was collected from items inside the couple’s home, which included a hairbrush belonging to Mamta, a piece of a carpet and cheek swabs from their daughter. Following the DNA evidence collected, Naresh was charged with murder and defiling of a dead body.

Some of the DNA evidence collected includes the following:

  • Cheek sample from the couple’s daughter.
  • Hairbrush belonging to Mamta.
  • Piece of carpet
  • Cheek sample from Naresh

In July, Mamta went missing and has not been seen ever since. Naresh was later accused of killing her and was officially charged with concealing her dead body, which has not yet been found…
