Some parts of Southwest Virginia were under severe weather warnings Saturday evening, which resulted in quarter-sized hail, lightning, severe rain, and wind gusts up to 60 mph.
This resulted in road closures, fallen trees and power outages. Thousands of Appalachian Power and Central Virginia Electric Coop customers lost power.
