Former Penn State star Olu Fashanu is set to check off another box as his professional career begins in earnest. Fashanu is set to make the first start of his NFL career for the New York Jets at right tackle against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Fashanu will be charged with protecting a future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, and he’ll be playing opposite one of the NFL’s top offensive tackles of the past decade-plus with veteran Tyron Smith starting at left tackle.

Fashanu was pressed into the lineup when starter Morgan Moses suffered a knee injury in a win over the New England Patriots last Thursday night. Fashanu played the whole fourth quarter for the first extensive action of his pro career…
