CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Cornelius voters passed $20 million in park bonds Tuesday night.
The ballot referendum passed with 59.5 percent of voters, or nearly 11,000, approving the funds.
The bonds will go toward capital costs of the acquisition, renovation and construction of parks and recreation facilities, plus greenways and open space. This includes the expansion of Robbins Park, Phase II of the tennis/pickleball complex at Bailey Road Park and a shared-use rec center at Cornelius Elementary School.
