Huntersville ending fire department contract with Medic, plans on creating new agreement

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The town of Huntersville is going in a slightly different direction than Charlotte and is ending its fire department’s contract with Medic for dispatch services.

On Dec. 17, the town’s Board of Commissioners voted to give 180 days notice that they intend to cancel the existing contract with the Mecklenburg County EMS service. Town officials intend to renegotiate the contract during that period.
