Three suspects are now facing charges in the murder of 16-year-old Edwin Morales, whose body was discovered on the side of Whitehouse Road in Lincolnton. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspects as 35-year-old Larue Dean Lipscomb, Jr., 20-year-old Michael Dujuan Byrd, and 17-year-old Isaiah Dashawn Lipscomb, who is being charged as an adult, WBTV reports.
According to information released by law enforcement authorities, last Sunday, Morales was abducted from outside his home, robbed, and eventually shot. His body was found by a passerby on a road not frequently traveled by the public. Each suspect has been charged with one felony count of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and kidnapping. Larue is detained at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center, while Michael Dujuan Byrd is held without bond in the Lincoln County Jail.
