Two Central Valley organizations are receiving mini-grants from the All Rise Foundation, the nonprofit founded by New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge.

The All Rise Foundation announced its latest round of mini-grants this week, just days before Judge is scheduled to play in his first World Series.

The big picture: The October 2024 All Rise mini-grant recipients are the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Waterloo School in Linden and Fast Feet Running and Athletics, Inc., in New York City.

  • All three organizations are receiving $2,500 this month from the foundation.

Go deeper: The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is receiving the mini-grant for its after school program and will fund painting, drawing, craft-making and meals, among other things.

  • Waterloo School, located in Judge’s hometown of LInden, is receiving the mini-grant to support its #Waterloo Awesome Community project, which encourages students to be important partners in their school community through student leadership and student voice. The mini-grant will support an outdoor space created by the students with a greater number of plants, greener views and natural play areas.
  • Fast Feet Running and Athletics serves children and young adults with disabilities. It will use the grant to help give students with disabilities in the Bronx opportunities to train, work out and race.

Driving the news: All funds donated to the All Rise mini-grant programs go directly to children and youth programs in San Joaquin County, Fresno County and Bronx County, New York…
