LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – The Westlake Rams are a team that’s off to a 3-0 start for the second straight year in a row. The main difference is that the team doesn’t want to repeat what happened after those first three wins last season.
The Rams went on to lose eight straight games in a row as they continued to work through the growing pains of putting a large number of young players on the field. This season Head Coach John Richardson believes it is that experience that will change the outcome this season.
“We told them as a season goes along the competition was going to step up and it’s a big step up this week, DeRidder is really a good football team, they play very physically, especially on the offensive line, and they’re very sound,” said Richardson. “We know it’s going to be a really tough game come Friday night, this game’s a big game for us because I think everybody’s kind of waiting to see how we do and if we can go out there and play well in this game I think everyone will know that we have arrived.”…
