LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – National recognition is nothing new for students and teachers over at T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School.
On Monday, it was announced that the school was awarded a National Blue Ribbon by the U.S. Department of Education for the third time.
“Three times is a big feat. There are not many schools in the U.S. that have the honor of getting it once, much less repeat. It’s just an exciting time for our school,” Emily Alcock, Principal of T.S. Cooley, said. “There’s been a lot going on the last couple of years with the community, COVID, hurricanes, and all of that. Just to know that the hard work of our team was recognized on that level is something to be proud of.”…
