Hanukkah begins tonight; Gov. McMaster to attend State House menorah lighting Dec. 30

For the first time since 2005, Hanukkah begins on December 25.

The Jewish holiday begins at sunset on the 25th day of the month of Kislev in the Jewish calendar, which only rarely (four times since 1900) coincides with December 25 in the commonly used Gregorian calendar.
