LIST: Powerlines and debris blocking Lowcountry roadways

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Many reports of debris and downed powerlines are impacting traffic for Friday commuters amid the effects of Tropical Storm Helene.

CHARLESTON COUNTY

  • Charleston County EMS has moved to modified operations and is no longer traveling over the Ravenel Bridge.
  • A downed tree is reported on Wadmalaw Island on Bohicket Rd near River Rd causing significant traffic delays.
  • Mathis Ferry at 6th Ave is closed due to a downed powerline.
  • A downed tree on Faison Rd at Hwy 17
  • Large tree down on Night Heron Drive
  • Longpoint Rd near Boone Hall is closed due to storm surge flooding.
  • A small tree is down on Hwy 17 in Mt Pleasant
  • Wando Park Blvd
  • Johnnie Dodds Blvd toward Chuck Dawley
  • US 17 before Park West Blvd
  • A downed tree is blocking the right lane on Long Point Rd. just before the Needlerush Pkwy roundabout.
  • Highway 162 at Baptist Hill Rd is shut down in both directions, according to St. Paul’s Fire District. Power lines are down across the roadway.

BERKELEY COUNTY

  • Jedburg Rd is closed between Sandy Run Circle and Starline Drive due to a tree across the road with downed powerlines.
  • Liberty Hall Rd is closed due to downed powerlines in the roadway
  • The road is blocked in front of Burbage on Liberty Hall Rd

DORCHESTER COUNTY
