Due to windy forecast for Thursday, Major League Fishing tourney on Santee Cooper switches to two-day event

SUMMERTON — A full field of boaters and Strike King co-anglers will compete in what is now a two-day Major League Fishing Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine Regional tournament on Santee Cooper. Due to the wind forecast provided by the National Weather Service for the area for Thursday, Oct. 10, the tourney will now switch from a three-day to a two-day event on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11-12. Thursday is designated as an off-limits day. The winners will be determined by the heaviest two-day cumulative weight.

Takeoff will be held at 7:30 a.m. with weigh-in at 3:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at John C. Land III Landing, 4404 Greenall Road, Summerton.

Hosted by the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, the regional tournament will feature the top 45 boaters and co-anglers plus tournament winners from the 2024 BFL Bama, Bulldog, Gator and North Carolina divisions, competing for a top prize of $60,000, including a Phoenix 819 Pro bass boat with a 200-horsepower Mercury or Suzuki outboard and $10,000, along with lucrative contingency awards, including up to an additional $7,000 Phoenix MLF Bonus.
