My life partner and I moved to Tallahassee in 2018, in part due to the cultural enrichment we found at Railroad Square Art Park.
So, we attended the three public meetings that CRA and CAC have held since August which included hearings on the future of the park. At these events we took our turn at the microphone and listened to many other expressions of love and concern for the institution.
Scores of people spoke of the creativity, social integration, and fun that the Art Park has offered them through the many years of its life. Artists, musicians, actors, theater directors, entrepreneurs, business owners, and university students all shared at these meetings how important the park has been to them, and how vital they find it to be to the cultural life of our community.
At all the meetings, the public has respectfully appealed, passionately exhorted, even tearfully begged the CRA and CAC boards to make the decision to purchase all, or a part, of the park properties currently for sale by the owners.
