SURPRISE, Ariz. – A gun exchange turned violent in Surprise, leaving a 16-year-old boy recovering after being shot on Jan. 6.
The Surprise Police Department says the boy was shot around 11 p.m. near 140th Avenue and Greenway Road.
“Through their investigation, including witness interviews and video evidence from nearby homes, officers learned two groups of males had met to trade firearms. During the trade, an exchange of gunfire occurred. A 16-year-old male was struck by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital prior to officers arriving. He remains there in serious but stable condition,” the police department said.…
