LEXINGTON, Va. – The No. 19-ranked Washington and Lee University men’s cross country team is set to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships this Saturday, November 23, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. This marks the Generals’ second consecutive NCAA appearance and fifth in W&L history, highlighting a season of growth and new heights as a program.
The men’s 8,000-meter race will begin at Noon ET, following the women’s race at 11:00 a.m.
HISTORIC SEASON
Checking in as high as No. 12 in the national poll, a program-best, the Generals earned their second-straight NCAA at-large bid after finishing third at the NCAA South Regional Championships on November 16. In one of the most competitive regional meets of the year, Washington and Lee scored 59 points, narrowly finishing behind No. 14 Lynchburg (51) and No. 17 Emory (56).
Washington and Lee’s success has been fueled by its standout top-three runners—Keaton Rush (4th), Row Sterne (5th), and Robert Cooper (6th)—all of whom completed the regional course in under 25:01 and earned All-Region honors.
