Almost 70 hours below freezing: When will Denver break freezing temperatures?

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Denver has been below freezing for almost 70 hours as of Monday morning, but some of the coldest weather is yet to come.

Usually, the average high temperature in Denver stays in the 40s throughout January, however, there have been particularly chilly cold snaps at least once during the winter season.

Last year, a cold snap came in mid-January when temperatures stayed in the single digits for several days. This year in mid-January, an arctic blast swept into the U.S. and left the country with freezing temperatures.
