Michigan woman charged after police find 18 dogs living in ‘very poor’ conditions

MANISTEE COUNTY, MI – A woman faces animal cruelty charges after police seized 18 dogs from a residence in Manistee County.

Carolyn Jean Braun, 61, of Thompsonville was arraigned in 85th District Court for abandoning/cruelty to animals 10 or more but fewer than 25, stray dog and failure to keep dogs vaccinated.

Michigan State Police in Cadillac responded to the residence at 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 8 and found Braun loading several dogs into a pickup truck…
