N.J. man awarded $5M after being jailed for 200+ days on charges that were dropped

A Trenton man spent a good portion of 2019 in jail on a parole violation due to the repeated lies of a squad of Trenton police officers, only to be freed when the county prosecutor’s office examined his arrest and dismissed the drug charges, according to a federal lawsuit he filed.

Tyshon Edwards and his lawyers settled the suit in early 2024 for $5 million – with the city paying $500,000 of it from its own bank account…
