Philadelphia Union’s Three Headed Monster Dominate NYCFC 5-1

The Philadelphia Union (8-9-12, 33 points) took on NYCFC (11-7-11, 40 points), at Yankee Stadium in a midweek matchup. The Union would be without their star goalkeeper, Andre Blake due to injury. Philadelphia would also be without defender, Jack Elliott due to yellow accumulation. With only six matches left in the season, the Union are desperate for 3 points. The youngest team in MLS, NYCFC, sit in 6th place in the eastern conference entering the match. The Union currently sit in 11th place entering the match. It would take Philly’s three headed monster of Baribo, Uhre, and Gazdag for the Boys in Blue to get a victory.

Philly Scores Early and Often

The Union looked to attack and get ahead early for the third consecutive match, and they did just that. Tai Baribo would get things started in the 15th minute. Baribo scored his 8th goal in MLS play off a header that snuck past former Union goalkeeper, Matt Freese. Baribo would then look to get his teammates involved.
