Oxford High School shooting victims’ families to demand state-led investigation

OXFORD, Mich. — The families of the victims and survivors of the Oxford High School shooting said they are holding a press conference Monday to urge Michigan lawmakers to mandate and fund an independent investigation into the events leading up to the Nov. 30, 2021 shooting.

The district previously hired a private firm, Guidepost Solutions, to do an investigation; however, that investigation lacked subpoena power.

Though the shooter and his parents have been sentenced, there has not been a state-led investigation to examine the decisions and actions leading up to and during the incident, organizers said.
