Albany Med nurses to receive previously planned pay increases

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Albany Medical Center said its nurses will receive previously scheduled raises even as they continue to work without a contract .

Hospital officials said nurses typically receive raises on the same schedule, and under the union contract, no raises could happen until a contract is reached. The hospital said they did not want to delay raises.

The previous contract expired on July 31. Nurses are calling for improved staffing ratios and recruitment efforts.

Nurses said the New York State Department of Health gave the hospital a staffing deficiency report and claimed the hospital has not shared it. NEWS has asked the DOH for a copy of the report and is waiting for a response…
