Pretrial hearing held in case of man who allegedly struck UAlbany student with dirt bike

A pretrial hearing was held Thursday in the case of the Watervliet man accused of hitting and severely injuring a UAlbany student with a dirt bike.

Austin Breyette, 26, is accused of hitting Alexa Kropf just before midnight on April 26. Kropf had serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis and required several brain surgeries.

Breyette is facing charges of second-degree assault, leaving the scene of an incident without reporting and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. He allegedly hid the dirt bike to conceal the crime…
