In an effort to maintain and reaffirm its support for immigrants, both legal and illegal, Anne Arundel County has announced it will pursue a certified ‘Welcoming America’ designation.
Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman said the certification would let people know that the county “welcomes everyone,” regardless of background. He said 9% of Anne Arundel County residents are immigrants.
