ALBANY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — An Albany man has been arrested by New York State Police after he allegedly struck a Rome man with his vehicle on the New York State Thruway last weekend.
On Saturday, January 4, Troop G of the New York State Police — out of Latham — responded to reports of a car-versus-pedestrian collision in the westbound lane near the village of Canajoharie. Further investigation determined that the pedestrian — 61-year-old David Bonaparte of Rome — had stopped on the northern shoulder and exited the vehicle. He was subsequently hit by another vehicle traveling westbound on the Thruway.
Bonaparte sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene…
