Public meetings to begin to expand heavily used California highway that hugs shoreline

VALLEJO, CA – A critical public meeting about the State Route 37 improvement project is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy Library in Vallejo. Hosted by Caltrans and regional transportation agencies, the session will run from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and focus on the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) for widening a congested ten-mile stretch between Sears Point (Sonoma County) and Mare Island (Solano County).

Key updates include adding an east- and westbound lane, rehabilitating the Strip Marsh East to support wildlife and mitigate flooding, and introducing disabled vehicle pullouts to improve safety.
