( KRON ) — The leader of a Vallejo nonprofit was struck in a hit-and-run crash in December, a GoFundMe set up for the victim said.
Mel Jones, who is the commissioner of the Boys & Girls Empowerment Group, was hit by a car on the night of Dec. 20 at Sandpiper Court and Volcano Drive. His wheelchair was destroyed, and community members are raising money to buy him a replacement.
The Vallejo Police Department said there were no injuries in the crash, but the GoFundMe said Jones suffered a broken foot.
