East Tennessee authorities use snowy tracks to find Georgia fugitive

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The recent snowfall across Tennessee actually helped law enforcement in the southeastern part of the state track down a fugitive from Georgia Sunday morning.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said it received an anonymous tip around 8 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 that Brandon Frady — who was wanted in Catoosa County, Georgia, for aggravated assault, simple battery, criminal trespass, and two counts of cruelty to children — could be found at a home near the 2600 block of Banks Road.

While deputies were checking the residence, officials said Frady was seen walking towards East Brainerd Road on Banks Road, but he was gone by the time deputies arrived there. As a result, additional deputies and a K-9 unit with the Collegedale Police Department responded to the scene and established a perimeter.

Authorities said they found fresh tracks left in snow behind the Quick Mart on East Brainerd Road, which they followed across a creek and up a steep ridge until they spotted Frady hiding in the brush behind a fallen tree.
