Following an urgent appeal to the public, an 86-year-old Valparaiso man reported missing triggered a Silver Alert which has since been rescinded. William Powers, who was last seen in the early hours of yesterday, is now confirmed to have been found safe. With relief swiftly overtaking concern, the Porter County Sheriff’s Department publicly expressed their gratitude, crediting widespread community involvement for the successful outcome.

Police initiated the alert after Powers disappeared, sparking immediate concern given his advanced age and the possibility of medical complications. Described by the Indiana State Police as a white male, approximately 5’9″, and weighing 155 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes, William Powers’ last known attire was detailed as a blue suit jacket, a collared shirt, and gray pants, driving a silver 2003 Chevy Silverado with license plate TK656MBH. Found safe, the vehicle was never announced missing.
