Great white shark, known to frequent Florida waters, surfaces off St. Augustine Beach

A frequent guest in Florida waters surfaced in First Coast waters Wednesday.

Keji , a 9-foot 7-inch great white shark, tagged by the nonprofit research group OCEARCH , pinged southeast of St. Augustine on Dec. 11 at 10:50 p.m.

OCEARCH tracks tagged sharks via satellite tags attached to their dorsal fins. When the tag breaks the water’s surface long enough, a ping with location information is sent to trackers…
