INDIAN RIVER COUNTY − The man fatally hit by a Brightline train Tuesday in Vero Beach has been identified as Bryan De Paz Vazquez, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
A Brightline train struck Vazquez , 25, at approximately 3:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Old Dixie Highway in Vero Beach. The intersection was temporarily shut down while the sheriffs office investigated the incident.
Vazquez was seen going underneath the lowered railroad arm and attempted to run across the tracks, according to a news release issued by the Sheriff’s Office. All indications point to Vazquez wearing headphones at the time of the incident, investigators reported…
