JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A cool front will usher in showers and thunderstorms to central Mississippi later this evening through early tomorrow morning. We have a ‘Marginal 1/5 Risk’ in place for the risk of strong to severe thunderstorms. Damaging wind gusts are the main concern if we have severe storms, but a tornado cannot be ruled out. The main timeframe for storms will be from 9 PM this evening until 9 AM Tuesday.
Besides a few lingering showers and clouds early in the morning, we expect most of Tuesday to be quiet as the front clears the region. Skies will become sunny as the day goes on with highs in the upper 70s. Much cooler air will eventually funnel in behind the system by Wednesday…
