The John Brewer Chapter of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century held its first meeting of the new chapter year on Sept. 13 at The Club at Colony Creek.
Retired Victoria College professor Paul Janda spoke on “The Magna Carta and Its Role in Our History.” He presented the historical context leading to English barons rebelling against King John and the clauses contained in the Magna Carta of 1215, which has influenced many American documents.
