Ford Faces Lawsuit After Texas Man’s Death by Out-of-Control Truck

The family of a man who was crushed and killed by his own Ford truck is suing the automotive company for failing to notify of defective systems.

The Death of Roy “Mack” Irwin

On June 18, 2024, Roy Irwin made a stop at a New Braunfels subdivision while running errands. Video footage was obtained showing the exact moment his Ford F-250 truck began malfunctioning.

Despite the vehicle being in park, it began driving forward and backward on its own as Irwin was out of the driver’s seat. The passenger of the vehicle attempted to grab the wheel and stop the truck from moving, but to no avail.

When Irwin noticed what was happening, he attempted to chase after the truck and hop into the driver’s seat. This is when the truck backed up, crushing Irwin’s torso under the front tire. He initially survived, but was trapped under the weight of the Ford truck until first responders were able to arrive on the scene and free him…
