PORT LAVACA, Texas – Those days of free trips to the beach are over after the Port Lavaca City Council re-established a fee for entrance.
Port Lavaca City Manager Jody Weaver says the toll to enter Lighthouse Beach has always existed but was suspended due to difficulties in keeping a manned toll booth and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. However, with the city’s ability to bring in an automated toll booth, the entry fees will now be enforced.
