SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) – House Bill 3297 eliminates the need for a vehicle safety inspection prior to registration for non-commercial vehicles.
“Some of the things they looked at included your brakes, your lights, checking your horn, making sure that all of the electrical systems was working properly,” said AAA Texas spokesperson, Daniel Armbruster.
Though this new law may be convenient for drivers, it’s still important for vehicle owners to get their vehicles routinely inspected by a trusted mechanic. “Or if you have a big road trip coming up, you know you’re going to travel over 50 miles, make sure that you do have a trusted mechanic go ahead, take a look at your vehicle,” said Armbruster…
