VICTORIA, Texas – High school students interested in the Victoria Police Department’s (VPD) Explorer Program can start applying on Monday, March 31.
The department is reintroducing the program to teach students about personal awareness of the criminal justice system and to provide a deeper look into law enforcement. The program includes activities such as ride-along, hands-on traffic stops and handcuffing exercises.
The VPD will host four come-and-go style information sessions for students interested in the program:
- April 8 at the VPD, 306 S. Bridge St., from 5 to 7 p.m.
- April 22 at the St. Joseph High School cafeteria, 110 E. Red River St., from 5 to 7 p.m.
- May 6 at the VPD North Substation Community Room at Victoria Mall, 7800 N. Navarro St., from 5 to 7 p.m.
- May 20 at the VPD from 5 to 7 p.m.
