Historical reenactors from around the state of Texas transported community members to the inception of Victoria in their two-day event “1824: A Victoria Origin Story.” The free event featured a variety of stations showcasing different elements of life from the city’s first settlement including period-specific clothes, living spaces and weapons.

The reenactors offered information on many aspects of life in 1824 including rope making, cattle branding and the making of fry bread. Attendees of the event learned about Victoria’s Tejano history in the “Tejano Camp.”
