A Victoria woman, Brittnie Boyd, 35, was arrested on a charge of intoxication manslaughter Wednesday after she was involved in a multiple-vehicle wreck that resulted in the death of one man.
Wednesday afternoon, troopers with the Department of Public Safety were notified of a multiple-vehicle accident on FM 236, about four miles north of Loop 463. Witnesses of the wreck say they saw Boyd driving poorly before the crash, Ruben San Miguel, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, says.
When Boyd attempted to pass a vehicle in front of her in a no-passing zone, she struck a vehicle that was being towed, which caused her to cross the center line in the direction of oncoming traffic. The result was a head-on collision with a Silverado pickup truck. The crash caused the Silverado to overturn and come to a rest on the driver’s-side door, Miguel says. …
