Man sentenced to 1 year after eluding Norfolk Police in stolen car

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A man was sentenced to one year in prison for eluding police in a stolen car.

According to officials, on Sept. 7 around 8 p.m., a man called Norfolk Police to report his rental car, which he had left running at the corner of 35th Street and Colley Avenue, was stolen.

The following day around 2 p.m., an officer saw the stolen vehicle traveling eastbound on Brambleton Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop…
