VIRGINIA BEACH — A threat to pull city support for the Something in the Water festival fizzled Tuesday when the City Council agreed in an 8-2 vote to give organizers more time to pull the details together.
“Over the last several days, there have been multiple discussions with representatives for Something in the Water,” said Councilwoman Amelia Ross-Hammond, a liaison to the festival. “They are working toward bringing the festival to fruition.”
She succeeded in convincing her colleagues to give Virginia Beach native and music mogul Pharrell Williams the benefit of the doubt even though he recently missed a deadline outlined in the city sponsorship to produce the lineup and start ticket sales before the end of 2024…
