Monache boys, Lachino continue to shine

The Monache boys and cross country teams competed against another set of heavy hitters for the second straight week at the Roughrider Invitational on Friday at Woodward Park.

Teams from across the state met at the site of the CIF State Championship to test their abilities and prepare for the state meet. The Monache boys placed 13th out of 35 teams, with 313 points, just behind Clovis High with 270 points.

Devin Marino led the Marauders with a personal record 3.1 mile run of 15:58, placing 34th. Marino’s time was the fourth best in school history, 3 seconds behind Porterville High head coach and MHS legend Jesus Salas…
