Debate over the selection process for Porterville’s new City Manager was the main focus of Tuesday’s regular City Council meeting.
With City Manager Patrice Hildreth’s upcoming retirement in December of this year, staff sought and was provided direction by the City Council to commence a recruitment plan for her successor.
The question at hand was whether the current council should choose the applicant for city manager or should it be left to the new Council, who are seated in December. Up to three seats could be replaced, potentially creating different goals and aspirations for the community…
