On Saturday, Nov. 2, at the California Surf Museum’s 16th annual Gala Fundraiser at the Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach Hilton Resort, the 2024 Silver Surfer recipients were announced: LJ Richards, Fred Hemmings, Mary Lou Drummy, Mickey Muñoz and Greg MacGillivray.
The Silver Surfer Award is a coveted honor accorded a handful of lifelong surfers by the California Surf Museum in recognition of those who have greatly influenced surfing’s culture and lifestyle. The award celebrates those whose lives have inspired others to “expand their awareness and continue to set a shining example of a true Silver Surfer.”
