Hundreds arrested during CHP Christmas maximum enforcement period

(FOX40.COM) — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) conducted a statewide two-day Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) starting at 6:01 p.m. on Dec, 24 and ending on Dec. 25 at 11:59 p.m.

CHP said in a Facebook post on Thursday, that during the two days, they have worked to ensure everyone made it safely to their holiday destinations.

With the release of the MEP data, the CHP said, “The holidays should be a time of celebration, not tragedy. Let’s continue to prioritize safety and responsibility on the road.”
