Guest Post Peter Kuchinsky II, VID Director, Division 3.
It is a pleasure to represent Division 3 which covers central and northeast Vista and unincorporated areas of the county of San Diego, but ultimately my responsibilities are to all of Vista Irrigation District (VID) customers and ratepayers. I wanted to share some highlights on activities over the past year, as well as a look into 2025.
2024 Election – VID Board President Richard Vasquez retired after serving on the Board for 24 years. Mr. Vásquez represented Division 2, which encompasses the area north of West Vista Way and west of North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista.Byron Olsen was elected as a VID Director in November 2024 to fill the Division 2 seat. He represents Division 2 which covers the area north of West Vista Way and west of North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista. Jo MacKenzie was also re-elected in November and has served on the Board of Directors since December 1992. She represents Division 5, which includes northeast and southeast Vista, north Twin Oaks Valley and the Bennett area in the city of San Marcos.I will continue to build strong relationships and work with both Jo and Byron to maintain a reliable water system and remain fiscally responsible throughout 2025 and beyond…
